MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Heavy fighting between Somaliland troops and SSC forces erupted in a disputed border area in Togdheer region on Wednesday, months after the break-away region lost control of large swathes of territory.
SSC forces released images purporting to show a captured Somaliland army commander and claimed seizing the village of Buqdharkeyn, where the gunfight had taken place.
Casualties on both sides have not been immediately known.
