MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Somaliland authorities on Saturday condemned Somalia’s admission to the East African Community on Friday, saying that the government of President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has no legitimacy to represent the break-away region in regional and international organizations, Caasimada Online news website reported.
“We strongly believe that this decision is a violation against the sovereignty and territorial independence of Somaliland,” authorities in the separatist region said in a statement.
“Admission of Somalia to the EAC without permission from Somaliland is a huge injustice weakening the principles of international law.”
