Puntland minister accuses Somalia’s president of stoking clan conflict in Goldogob town

MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Puntland Minister of Planning Mohamed Farole has accused Somalia’s President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of instigating renewed clan conflict on the outskirts of Goldogob town in Mudug region.

The regional minister alleged that it was the third time Somali President stoked the conflict between clan militias in Goldogob town, adding that he had done so in 2015 and 2016. He has not provided evidence for the claim which comes amid rift between regional authorities and the federal government.
