MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Italian ambassador to Somalia on Wednesday handed over a number of armored vehicles to the Somali Police chief Sulub Ahmed in an attempt to support Somali security forces taking part in operations against insurgents.
Officials said the armored vehicles will be used for stabilization efforts in rural areas captured by government troops and their allies from the Al-Qaeda-aligned militant group Al-Shabaab and thanked to Italy for continued support to Somali government forces.
