MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – A high-ranking federal government delegation led by the Minister of Post and Telecommunications arrived in the northern Somalia town of Lasanod as Somaliland authorities threaten new offensive to retake the strategic town.
The delegation comprising members of the cabinet and parliamentarians received a warm reception from Sool, Sanaag and Cayn (SSC) authorities in control of the town.
It came days after Somaliland threatened that it would launch a new offensive against SSC authorities, alleging that they are hosting dozens of Al-Shabaab fighters, including a senior militant leader. SSC has later denied the assertion.
