Somalia’s police arrest several officers at Mogadishu Airport over corruption charges

MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Somalia’s police arrested several officers at Adan Adde International Airport in the capital Mogadishu over corruption charges, Caasimada Online news website reported on Thursday.

It came after new Somali police chief promised to fight corruption to restore security and stability in the war-torn Horn of Africa nation.

In a brief statement, Somali police said 5 officers suspected of “corruption and embezzlement” at the tax office of the airport, but gave no further details.
