MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Somalia’s security forces say they have arrested a man identified as Sayid Ali Moalim Daud who burned his wife alive last week after days-long manhunt operation.
Images circulated on social media showed the moment security forces captured the man near the town of Caad in the central region of Mudug.
Sayid Ali set his wife on fire a week ago, triggering public outrage. Lul Abdiasis, the mother of six, succumbed to injuries from the attack at Digfer hospital in the capital Mogadishu on Friday. Her death sparked calls for bringing the perpetrator, who had gone into hiding, to justice.
