MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – A number of Somali MPs have smuggled pistols and scissors into parliament session, threatening security of their colleagues amid escalating disputes over government-proposed constitutional changes, parliamentarian Ilyas Sheikh Ahmed said on Thursday.
The MP, giving a speech, urged the speaker of parliament Sheikh Adan Mohamed Nur to punish MPs who smuggle weapons into the house to threaten the lives of their colleagues.
The remarks have come days after female MP splashed water on parliament chair and staff.
