Somalia’s president heads to Ethiopia amid row over sea access deal with Somaliland

Somalia

MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Somalia’s President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud said on Wednesday he will travel to Ethiopia to attend three summits with African heads of state amid diplomatic row over Addis Ababa’s sea access deal with Somaliland, Caasimada Online news website reported on Thursday.

Mohamud told reporters in Kismayo that during his visit in Addis Ababa he will attend the African Union summit and meetings organized by IGAD, and the East African Community.

The Somali President says his government still insists on its position that there will be no room for talks with Ethiopia unless Addis Ababa retracted its memorandum of understanding with Somaliland.
