DOHA (Somaliguardian) – At least 3 Turkish soldiers were killed and eight others wounded when Kurdish fighters targeted a convoy they were traveling in the village Hazwan, east of the town of Aleppo in northwestern Syria, Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said on Saturday.
Turkish troops have been on full alert in the hours following the attack, local sources were quoted by Al Arabiya TV as saying.
After the attack, Turkish troops intensively bombed Kurdish forces’ positions in the village of Zoyan in response to the assault, though casualties have not been immediately known.
Rami Abdel Rahman, director of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, told Al Arabiya that the Kurdish forces fired a guided missile at a Turkish vehicle on the outskirts of Aleppo, a serious escalation in the restive area.
