MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – The African Union rejected Somalia’s request to delay the withdrawal of 3,000 peacekeepers scheduled for the end of this month, Al Jazeera TV reported on Tuesday.

It came days after the Somali government asked the United Nations Security Council for a 90-day pause of the drawdown of 3,000 peacekeepers in the war-torn Horn of Africa nation, citing setbacks suffered by its troops fighting Al-Shabaab.
