MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Somalia’s government arrested 14 soldiers and officers accused of abetting a suicide bomb attack on a military academy in Mogadishu last week that had left more than 30 soldiers dead and many more wounded, deputy minister of defense Abdifatah Qasim told parliament on Saturday.
The commander in charge of the Jaalle Siyad Military Academy where the bombing occurred is among those detained by authorities in connection with the attack claimed by the Al-Qaeda-aligned militant group Al-Shabaab.
