MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Mohamed Hussein Roble has been sworn in as Somalia Prime Minister after winning parliament vote of confidence during a session attended by 215 MPs.
President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo gave a keynote speech at the session and urged members of parliament to approve the new Prime Minister.
Speaking at the event, Somalia’s new Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble said he would work hard to improve security, economy and the fight against corruption if Parliament voted to endorse him.
All 215 MPs at the session voted to approve the new Prime Minister.
Mr Roble has been sworn in after winning Parliament vote of confidence. He has promised to form a new government within a short period of time.
The new Prime Minister has daunting task ahead of him as insecurity in the country spirals out of control and he is awaited to lead the country to elections, given that his mandate expires within 5 months.
