MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Death toll from cataclysmic floods in Somalia rose to 96, the country’s federal government said on Thursday and called for emergency relief efforts to help tens of thousands of internally displaced people.
At least two million people were affected by the floods as the humanitarians situation in a number of southern regions continues to worsen by the day. Shabelle and Juba Rivers have burst their banks in a number of towns, submerging entire neighborhoods.
