MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – The African Union has supported Somalia’s request for a 3-month delay of the scheduled drawdown of 3,000 peacekeepers from the war-torn Horn of Africa nation.

In a communiqué, the African Union Peace and Security Council demanded that the Somali government cover the “financial costs for the requested extension” by mobilizing local resources and engaging its international partners.
