MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Kenya’s military on Friday night carried out airstrikes in south Somalia’s Sakow town, injuring at least two civilians.
The strikes reportedly targeted residential areas and shops, destroying homes and vehicles as shown in images circulated on social media.
It came a week after a similar strike killed at least two civilians and demolished the headquarters of Hormuud, one of the country’s telecom giants, in the town.
Somalia’s Deputy Minister of Environment Adam Aw Hirsi earlier condemned the attack, saying it may fuel local resentment against Kenya and could help militants recruit more local fighters.
