MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Somalia’s President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud agreed to meet with opposition leaders against a recent deal signed by the members of the National Consultative Council that proposes the extension of president’s term in office, ex-Somali President Sharif Sheikh Ahmed said on Tuesday.
Sharif met Mohamud in Villa Somalia for the second in just a few weeks, discussing issues, including the current political stalemate in the war-torn Horn of Africa nation.
“I and President Hassan Sheikh agreed that a meeting be held, which will host politicians who had issued a communiqué against the NCC (National Consultative Council) agreement,” Sharif said in a statement on Facebook.
