MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) –Somalia’s ousted Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khaire declined offer to attend Hawiye conference held in Mogadishu that will host politicians, intellectuals and businessmen of the tribe.
After speaking over the phone with Somalia’s Former President Ali Mahdi Mohamed who invited Khaire to attend the meeting, the recently removed PM boldly said he was not ready to participate in the conference.
The reason behind Khaire’s decline of the offer to attend the conference is so far unknown, but local politicians say the former Prime Minister lost popularity among his fellow tribesmen and made many adversaries during his term in office – that was likely behind his decision.
