MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Somaliland troops and local forces in the town of Lasanod in northern Somalia’s Sool region on Wednesday exchanged artillery fire following weeks-long ceasefire, local media reported.
It came after artillery shells landed on residential areas in Lasanod early in the morning. Local forces in control of the town responded with mortar shells targeting Goja’ade base housing Somaliland troops outside the city.
There have been no immediate reports of casualties as a result of the shelling.
