MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Somalia’s deputy Prime Minister Salah Ahmed Jama on Sunday declared a humanitarian emergency situation after flash floods killed more than 10 people in the conflict-torn Horn of Africa nation.
The deputy Prime Minister warned that many rural areas in the country are at risk of fresh floods that can cut key supply routes and worsen the current humanitarian situation in the country. He called on Somali businesspeople to provide urgent assistance to those affected.
