MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) –Mogadishu’s Wardhigley district commissioner Saynab Mohamoud Warsame (Habsey) has been hospitalized for fractured ribs after being tortured by Somali security forces.
The district commissioner was reportedly tortured by the security guards at the entrance of Banadir regional headquarters in Mogadishu following a dispute with her bodyguards.
Members of her family have told Somaliguardian that the district commissioner’s health condition is now getting better and that she is treated for broken ribs and other injuries.
Saynab Mohamoud Habsey was one of Banadir regional officials who suffered severe wounds from an Al-Shabaab claimed explosion that took place inside Mogadishu’s municipality a year ago. Her boss, the late mayor of Mogadishu Abdirahman Yarisow and other colleagues were not so lucky, they were killed in the attack.
Banadir regional officials have not yet spoken to media about the torture perpetrated against the regional official.
