MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) –Dozens of Somali youths held for more than a year in Iranian prisons have been returned home.
Turkish Airlines flight carrying the youths freed from Iranian prisons has landed at Mogadishu’s Adan Adde airport where parents and Somali government officials warmly received them.
Some of the youths who spoke to media expressed delight at returning to their country after being incarcerated in Iranian prisons for many months.
Hundreds of Somali youths are still being held in prisons across Africa, Asia and Europe after being arrested in perilous illegal journeys to overseas countries.
