MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Somalia’s President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud threatened cabinet ministers with dismissal if they fail to support his government’s push towards constitutional reform, Caasimada Online news website reported on Tuesday.
In a meeting held on Monday, Mohamud told ministers to either lobby support for the approval of a controversial agreement with regional leaders that proposes key changes to the constriction, including the abolishment of premiership system or leave their positions.
“We do not want to sack you, but if we are forced to do so, we will dismiss you. There are other men with suits standing outside to replace you,” Mohamud told a meeting of cabinet ministers.
