MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Puntland Vice President Ahmed Elmi Osman has accused the leader of the northeastern Somali semi-autonomous region Saeed Abdullahi Deni of being a dictator amid escalating tensions, Caasimada Online news website reported on Monday.
“The President has accustomed to dictatorship and the exercise of a one-man rule while ignoring recommendations from intellectuals,” Osman said.
It comes days after President Deni announced that the region will not hold a universal suffrage and would instead go ahead with traditional vote that allows MPs selected by clan elders to choose a regional leader.
