NAIROBI (Somaliguardian) – Hundreds of shops were destroyed when a huge fire broke out in the town of Jigjiga in eastern Ethiopia’s Somali region on Friday night.
The fire started on Friday evening in the Taywanka Market in the town and burned down hundreds of shops before firefighters were able to control the blaze, authorities said.
Authorities have not yet established the cause of the fire and there were no known casualties.
