MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud on Tuesday held his first phone talks with the Kenyan new President William Ruto and congratulated him on his election victory, his office said.
“The President underscored that he looks forward to working with the President-Elect on expanding bilateral cooperation between the two nations,” Villa Somalia tweeted.
Elected in May, Mohamud has reset diplomatic relations between Mogadishu and Nairobi following years of hiatus and lifted ban imposed by his predecessor Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo on Kenyan khat imports.
