Turkish Airlines Makes an Emergency Landing at Mogadishu Airport

MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) –Turkish Airlines made an emergency landing at Mogadishu’s Adan Adde airport shortly after takeoff, local officials have confirmed on Sunday.

The plane carrying more than a hundred passengers returned to the airport half an hour after take-off.

Images circulated on social media show passengers disembarking the plane in disorder after landing at Adan Adde airport in the Somali capital.

The technical problem that caused the plane to return to Mogadishu’s Adan Adde airport has not been immediately known to media, but officials at the airport said the pilot lost communications.

Airport authorities said the technical problem was solved and the flight would resume within the next few hours.
