NAIROBI (Somaliguardian) – At least three people were killed and five others wounded when a vehicle they traveling in was hit by a roadside bomb explosion in northeastern Kenya’s Mandera County on Wednesday, Nation Africa reported.
According to a police report, the bus was traveling along Wargadud-Takaba road in Mandera County when targeted by the explosion.
It came a day after three police officers were killed and two others wounded when their vehicle from Banisa to Mandera was struck by a blast on Tuesday. Al-Qaeda-aligned militant group Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the attack.
The group has conducted nearly a dozen attacks in Kenya over the past weeks, in what Kenyan security officials attribute to a growing presence of militants in the country’s Northeastern and Coast provinces.
