MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Somalia’s prime minister Mohamed Hussein Roble is heading to the town of Kismayo, the administrative capital of Jubaland regional state where he is due to meet with local officials for talks over the upcoming elections.
Large number of troops have been deployed across the town, with traffic restricted in many neighborhoods amid efforts to beef up security in the restive southern Somalia town.
Preparations for the arrival of the prime minister Mohamed Hussein Roble, undertaken by regional officials, are underway and a delegation of senior federal government officials dispatched by the prime minister reached the coastal city on Tuesday.
There are reports that the prime minister and regional president will discuss formation of a new administration in the town of Garbaharey, one of two cities in the region where upcoming parliamentary elections are scheduled to take place.
