MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – President of Somalia’s Southwest State has arrived in Nigeria’s capital, Abuja, in his first visit to the west African country since he was elected as regional president in December 2018.
A plane carrying Abdiasis Laftagaren, accompanied by regional ministers landed at an airport in the Nigerian capital on Sunday night where he was warmly received by local officials.
His working visit came after receiving an official invitation from the governor of Nigeria’s Kaduna State, Southwest regional official said.
Laftagaren is set to take a trip to the region where he will meet his Nigerian counterpart to discuss cooperation on several forefronts, he told Somaliguardian.
